Fragments of West Yorkshire is an immersive art and poetry experience created by Jumoke Muritala, visual artist, member of the British Arts Network, and Global Arts in Medicine Fellow in collaboration with City Library run by the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. The event celebrates the culture, history, and stories of West Yorkshire, capturing the spirit of its cities, communities, and identities. Through striking visual art and powerful spoken word, it transforms individual voices into a shared celebration of belonging.
Set in the heart of Bradford, UK City of Culture 2025, Fragments of West Yorkshire highlights the creativity and resilience that define the region. Alongside Muritala’s visual art, ten outstanding poets will perform works exploring themes of heritage, migration, identity, and unity bringing fresh perspectives to the diverse tapestry of West Yorkshire life.
More than a performance, this event is a reflection of community, storytelling, and cultural pride, an echo of what Bradford 2025 stands for.
